Center of SHANGHAI COOPERATION ORGANIZATION (SCO) Studies, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences

The Center of SHANGHAI COOPERATION ORGANIZATION Studies(COSCOS),established on June 15,2001,is bases on an earlier center of “SHANGHAI FIVE” studies founded in December 2000. COSCOS is the first academic institution embarking on “SHANGHAI FIVE” and SCO studies in China and in the world as well. His excellency Mr. Li Fenglin, president of Chinese Society of East European, Russian & Central Asian Studies and former Chinese ambassador to the Russian federation , serves as senior advisor to COSCOS. Its director is Professor Pan Guang , executive board member of  the Chinese Society of east European, Russian & Central Asian Studies and director of the Institute of Euro-Asian studies, the Shanghai Academy of Social Science. COSCOS is also staffed with deputy directors, secretary-general and deputy secretary-generals , as well as senior fellow or program officers, most of them being eminent scholars or practitioners in the fields.
